Jake Lepper is a husband, father, veteran, and public servant who believes local government should work for ordinary families, not just the loudest voices. He serves as a police sergeant, where he has spent his career focused on community trust, ethical leadership, and practical problem-solving. He is also a veteran of the Wisconsin Army National Guard and an Advanced EMT, giving him a front-row seat to the challenges facing working people and first responders alike.
Jake holds a bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, a master’s degree in GIS, and is completing a doctorate in Law and Policy. His work centers on fairness, accountability, and building systems that treat people with dignity, especially in moments of crisis. He brings that same spirit to public service: data-driven, compassionate, and unafraid to tackle hard problems.
Running for office because he loves this community and believes in its future, Jake is committed to putting families first, strengthening public safety, and making city government more transparent and responsive. He believes progress is not found in shouting, but in listening, and that Fitchburg moves forward best when we do it together.
I believe safety starts with trust. I’ll work to ensure police and emergency services are effective, accountable, and connected to the people they serve while also supporting alternative response models that provide people the best possible responders to their needs.
Fitchburg is growing fast, and we need housing options that keep pace. I’ll support smart growth that balances affordability with protecting our neighborhoods.
Our city must live within its means while planning for the future. I’ll focus on practical solutions that stretch every tax dollar.
I believe our natural spaces are something to be celebrated and cherished. I want my daughter to grow up in a community that is healthy, sustainable, and verdant.
